Great RSHE starts with a confident and consistent whole school approach, and all school staff have a role to play in supporting the provision. Our INSET packages for schools support you to bring your school community together to deliver top quality RSHE for your learners.
Commission a day of INSET training for your staff to explore the evidence and rationale for the RSE guidance, teacher values, ways to differentiate, working with parents, or many more topics. Our commissioned training can be tailored to your setting and your staff and learner needs.
As well as a knowledge update of the statutory RSHE guidance and what constitutes good practice in teaching relationships and sex education, it is also helpful for staff to have considered the core values that are relevant to RSE and how they can contribute to take opportunities in everyday school life to support healthy relationships.
Popular topics for INSET include how to teach puberty and sex education in primary, and in secondary, how to address sexual harassment, as well as how to create a spiral curriculum and how to teach inclusively about sex and relationships at all ages.
INSET training could comprise a full day of interactive training for a group of approx 20 staff, or could feature shorter sessions for groups of teachers to attend on rotation. We are also able to offer short sessions as part of your INSET activities, or as twilights, or a CPD series.
For larger groups or wider school staff we can provide an information-giving session, which would include an exploration of the requirements for RSHE, an knowledge update, and an opportunity for staff to explore their values around delivering and supporting RSE in all areas of school life.
