Millie (she/her) has worked with children and young people in a variety of community-based and school settings across the north-east of England and Glasgow, with a specific focus on improving outcomes for those with identified vulnerabilities. Millie has delivered bespoke and holistic RSE programmes to young people on a 1-1 and group basis, most recently within Sunderland's children's services. She has successfully coordinated multi-agency support and carried out individual assessments of young people displaying harmful sexual behaviours.
As well as targeted RSE, she has delivered training to a range of professionals within local authorities, including teaching staff, providing support to schools around their statutory RSE role. Millie has trained front-line professionals from across the threshold of need, focusing on making RSE everyone's business.
Millie led and developed an LGBTQ+ youth participation and engagement group tasked with creating positive change in the local area. With her facilitation, the group went on to create and deliver training to social workers regarding LGBTQ+ inclusion. She also chaired an equity, diversity and inclusion staff network to drive forward LGBTQ+ equality within the local authority. Millie skilfully coordinated and executed the first family pride event in Sunderland, a free event for children, young people and their families to celebrate LGBTQ+ inclusion. Millie also holds a postgraduate certificate in Gender and Diversity.
Millie joined Sex Education Forum in September 2023 as RSE Specialist and Trainer, leading on an innovative project to deliver RSE training to foster carers.
