Liam Beattie (he/him) works as a Senior Public Affairs Adviser for the Royal College of Nursing. He has worked in health policy and campaigns since 2015, previously working for the UK's largest HIV and sexual health charity, Terrence Higgins Trust.
He previously served as a member of the Sex Education Forum’s Advisory Group for three years before becoming a Trustee.
Liam has volunteered and worked in the charity sector for over ten years and is passionate about the rights of young people. He was previously Vice Chair of the Scottish Youth Parliament and a member of the Oxfam GB Youth Board. While working at HIV Scotland he authored a report on the provision of sex education in Scottish schools that prompted a Government lead review.
He has experience engaging with organisations on an international level, including working for the European Youth Forum and engaging with the United Nations human rights review to lobby for people affected by HIV and poor sexual health.
Liam became a Trustee of the Sex Education Forum in April 2021 and was appointed Deputy Chair of the Board in winter 2024.
